Post-Thanksgiving: 5 Grateful Things

Yesterday, during my daily scroll of my cellphone, I saw that one of the influencers that I follow posted a picture of him and 5 things that he is thankful for today. He wakes up every morning being thankful and grateful for 5 reasons or 5 things. Therefore, in post thanksgiving fashion I shall share 5 reasons why I am thankful.

  1. This year, has been a major improvement in my physical health and losing 20 pounds. I’m thankful for my body, staying active, and improving my diet.

  2. For new friendships, that have just plopped into my life.

  3. My family back home in Indiana that emotionally supports me and my friends in New York that frequently listen to my musings and monologues.

  4. Discipline, it’s hard work to frequently walk, stay active, and accomplish my personal goals. I’m thankful, I can be honest with myself and make goals and be disciplined.

  5. Books and the ability to be transported into a new place when my professional life has a heavy load. I love books! I haven’t finished one yet, I keep purchasing and reading dozens of pages.

The construction of this list was interesting for me because it made me think about why I am thankful and grateful for things in my life. It sounds cliche yet I do not do this enough. Occasionally, I must remember in the midst of this 21st scrolling and screen filled life that there are always things to be thankful for.
